This course is intended for managers, systems analysts, and engineers who are working with problems that involve the use of material handling equipment in plants, warehouses, and other commercial enterprises. It is concerned with material handling and distribution problems, from the source of raw material through manufacturing and distribution systems to the final consumer.

Lee Hales, president of Richard Muther & Associates, is an internationally-recognized planner of manufacturing and distribution facilities. Mr. Hales is a senior lecturer for the Supply Chain & Logistics Institute and has directed numerous SCL courses for more than 10 years. In this course he demonstrates his expertise of systematic layout planning. Formerly operations manager for a distributor of industrial supplies and service parts, Mr. Hales has completed consulting assignments for a wide range of industries in more than 20 countries. His clients include: Crown Equipment, The Container Store, Delta Air Lines, Lands’ End, Nokia, Ericsson, Lucent, Motorola, General Motors, Sony, and many others. The author of two books on industrial planning, Lee Hales is a graduate of the University of Kansas and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

PROGRAM FEE

The program fee of $2300 includes continental breakfasts, lunches, breaks, and all classroom materials. Checks made payable to Georgia Tech are accepted for payment, as well as VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover cards. Note that your credit card will be charged as soon as your registration is received. Registrants should make payment arrangements prior to the start of the program. Advance payment arrangements are required to guarantee your place in the program. If a program registrant must cancel, a substitution or transfer to another program can be made.

If the Supply Chain & Logistics Institute must cancel a program, registrants will receive a full refund. Georgia Tech, however, cannot assume the responsibility for other costs incurred. Due to program enrollment limits, early registration is encouraged. Registrations will be acknowledged by a letter of confirmation from Executive Education.

FEDERAL LOGISTICS CERTIFICATE (FLC)

Any Federal Government or military employee pursuing a Federal Logistics Certificate in conjunction with Know Net can take advantage of the special rate of $. The Federal Logistics Certificate program is a component of The Electronic Logistics Training and Support Network (EL-TRAINS) on Know Net. When registering for the course, please use a valid ".gov" or ".mil" email address and signify that you would like to receive the FLC rate when asked. Each TLI course will be offered at the current sponsor/Federal Government rate for each individual course. A package price of $10,000 will be offered to Federal employees which covers the five specific courses required for the Federal Logistics Certificate. PROGRAM LOCATION AND ACCOMMODATIONS

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS

This program meets criteria for the nationally accepted Continuing Education Unit (CEU). Each participant completing the program will earn 2.1 CEUs and a program certificate. A certificate of completion, showing the accumulated CEUs earned, can be requested by emailing ceu-request@dlpe.gatech.edu.

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS

To cancel your registration and receive a full refund, you must call Executive Education at (404)385-3501 at least 10 business days prior to the course start date. A course cancellation received fewer than 10 days prior to the course start date will be refunded the registration amount, less $50 to cover the costs of materials and facilities. If you do not call Executive Education to cancel your registration and do not attend the course, you are still responsible for the full registration fee.
