  • Supply Chain Forum issues call for papers
    Supply Chain Forum: an International Journal has issued a call for papers for a special issue devoted to the wine supply chain. The deadline for submissions is 01 September 2008.

  • WSCC at IFORS 2008
    Sandton, South Africa (July 2008) - Dr. Esbeth van Dyk of CSIR and WSCC has organized a session at the Triennial Meeting of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies, to be held in Sandton, South Africa. The session is entitled “The Wine Supply Chain” and will include the following talks:
    • “Decision support for a wine cellar”, by A. van der Merwe and Dr. E. van Dyk of CSIR and Dr. J. van Vuuren of the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa
    • “Scheduling and mathematical modeling in a complex wine supply network: a case study”, by Drs. S. Dunstall and R. Weiskircher of CSIRO, Australia.
    • “Improving the order management process of a winery using a simulation model”, by Dr. S. Maturana and A. Sanchez of the Catholic University of Chile

  • WSCC plans third international meeting for 2008
    (Atlanta) After successful meetings in Atlanta (June 2006) and Santiago (March 2007), WSCC will meet next in Cape Town 21-25 July 2008.
